The Application
YOU KNOW ME NOONA ♥♥♥Name: Jang Wooyoung Nickname: Woo, Woobutt, Woobear (don't use the last two though) Band/Solo: 2PM Journal: ![]() Twitter: @wooyoungiepie Aim: #woobutt Age: 21 Year: Junior as of the fall semester Fraternity: Kappa Alpha Order Major: Art History (why?) Clubs/Sports: Dance Club, Cheer team Bio: Wooyoung was nine years old when he first met his cousins. Before then it had just been himself, his mother and the household staff. He knew what his father looked like because of stern faced pictures and very brief video chats, but the man was never around. His first encounter with the cousin closest to his age was less than a positive one. She'd offered him a lollipop and harmless as this was, sent Wooyoung into a dreadful temper tantrum. Lollipops were bad for his teeth and even one would make all of them fall right out. He knew this was true because his mother had said so. His life continued to follow a familiar theme. His mother's words were always true. Home schooling would be best for him because she said so. He would be a smarter and better child because of it, but, for whatever reason, he started going to a public school halfway through the school year. This would be even better for him, his mother had said at the time. Everyone would be able to see how smart he was. Or see how fast he fell to the ground when a fist connected to his face. He wasn't adjusting as well as his mother had hoped, but because this was the best for him, and his mother knew everything, he stuck it out in the school of simple minded heathens and played into the part of your average junior high school student. It did help that the horrible cousin that tried to rob him of all his teeth in his earlier years was present. At least he had someone he didn't completely hate. High school was significantly better. Since Hayi moved to Seoul to attend a performing arts school, it was only fitting that he at least be in Seoul as well, so that she would have family her own age in the city. Again, his mother knew best, so of course, Wooyoung went along with the decision, though he didn't necessarily take it lying down. He attended one of the finer academic schools, where no one had any sort of real social skill, and academics was almost always the topic of conversation. Wooyoung didn't do well here either. He wasn't as smart as these brainiacs, nor did he have anything in common with them. It was the first time he allowed himself to realize.. Maybe mother didn't know everything. And boy did that open up a cluster fuck of drama. Instead of trying to find his passion, Wooyoung immediately jumped too the conclusion that he didn't need anymore education. Clearly there was no school in South Korea that could meet his unique needs and educational demands. It just wasn't working. The most obvious solution was to never set foot into another educational institution ever again as long as he lived. Enter the absent father and the rich fucker that keeps this spoiled brat known as Wooyoung afloat (financially anyway). A few stern words involving 'such a disappointment' and 'embarrassment to the family' and Wooyoung is yanked out of his failing situation and shipped off to Australia where he struggled through the typical teenage troubles on top of the language and cultural barrier. And then there was The Plan that his father had in place. Go to the Outback. Be awesome. Go to the University of Melbourne. Come back to Korea even more awesome and work for his company, maybe eve take over one day. Too bad Wooyoung didn't get accepted. In truth, Wooyoung botched his application so that he wouldn't get accepted. If he'd been disenchanted with school then, he flat out hated it now. He just wanted to go back to Korea and live his life. He knew the only way he wouldn't get completely cut off was to get into some university in his home country, with a decent reputation. Oh, why, hello there, Yonsei. But what major? Never being the one to make decisions on his own, but certainly not trusting others to make them for him (after the whole, mother knows everything fiasco, because she totally didn't), he let fate decide and threw a dart at a list of majors. Art History. What the hell was that? Oh well. To be honest, that's kind of how he chose which fraternity he would pledge for as well. Kappa Alpha Order? That sounds cool, actually. Good job, fate. Personality: Wooyoung is destined for great things. He's known that since he's been able to understand words. Why does he know this? Because his mother tells him everyday. And when your ego is inflated everyday, probably since birth, you gain a sort of.. distorted view of reality and your place in the world. There are shitty people in the world that take pride in their shittiness. Wooyoung also knows this. Why does he know this? Because his father is a pretty shitty person and he doesn't like it one bit. Because of the shittiness he's been exposed to, probably since birth, Wooyoung tries hard not to be a spoiled brat, but let's be real, with an inflated ego and the relatively small-ish (disgustingly huge) fortune that has afforded him everything he could possibly want, humility is a difficult thing to come by. |
